Melanie Lynskey, 36, a native of New Plymouth, New Zealand, made her film debut at age 16 in “Heavenly Creatures” and has appeared in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “Flags of Our Fathers,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Win Win.” Her TV credits include “Rose Red,” “The Shield,” “Memphis Beat” and “House,” and she co-stars in the upcoming HBO sitcom “Togetherness.” “What’s so fun about this job is that I do it a couple of times a year and I get to be this person who exists in a different reality,” she says. “Just the way [Rose] looks at the world is so bizarre. I don’t ever want her to change.”
