What did Fox TV reporter Melissa Francis do before becoming a journalist?
—Barb Campbell, Macon, Ga.
In front of the camera these days as an anchor on the Fox Business Network, Francis, 39, is a former child actress. "I grew up in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and worked pretty steadily until I went to college," says the married mother of two young sons, who now lives in New York City. She appeared in more than a dozen TV shows and made-for-television movies throughout the 1980s, but she's best known for her role as Cassandra, the adopted Ingalls daughter on Little House on the Prairie. "My TV parents were killed in a tragic wagon accident and Michael [Landon] swooped in and made me an Ingalls. It was a lot of fun."
