Kaling, 33, is best known for her role as Kelly Kapoor on “The Office,” but the Cambridge, Mass.-born actress is also the writer of more than 20 episodes of the TV series. A graduate of Dartmouth College, her other credits include acting in the movies “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Unaccompanied Minors,” “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” and “No Strings Attached.” Kaling, whose parents took her name from the TV show “Mork & Mindy,” says of her current series, “Every day I wake up and it’s like, ‘Oh, I’m the star of my own show, I get to write it and hire people, actors that I’ve loved for such a long time.’ It’s amazing!”
