Michelle Williams received an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in this critically praised 2011 release, based on a true story about the screen goddess’ exhilarating 1956 fling with a younger man on a London movie set far away from the glare of Hollywood. The all-star, mostly British cast also includes Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier, Marilyn’s polar-opposite co-star in the film (“The Prince and the Showgirl”) in which they’ve been paired, Julia Ormond as va-va-voom Vivian Leigh, and Emma Watson, who makes her first post-Harry Potter appearance in the supporting role of Lucy, a wardrobe assistant.
