Is Nancy Kulp, who played Miss Jane on The Beverly Hillbillies, still living?
Linda Tickle, Gibsonville, N.C.

No, she died of cancer of the larynx in 1991 at age 69. Kulp, a native of Harrisburg, Pa., had aspirations of becoming a newscaster prior to her acting career. Although she appeared in classic movies, including Shane and Sabrina, her greatest fame came by way of television when cast in The Bob Cummings Show as a bird watcher and later as the bank secretary, Miss Jane Hathaway, in The Beverly Hillbillies. In the late 1980s, Kulp retired from television to devote herself to the stage.
