Papillon
Blu-ray ($34.99)

One of the best “escape movies” of all time makes its Blu-ray debut packaged with a 32-page book of film trivia and rare photos of stars Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman, who teamed in 1973 for this epic tale of survival at a notorious hell-on-earth penal colony in French Guiana. Hoffman wore contact lenses to compensate for the thick, Coke-bottle glasses his character had to use. McQueen sported the most unflattering fake rotting teeth of his entire career. And director Franklin J. Schaffner, who captured the oppressively hot, humid and hopeless settings of the story on locations in Jamaica and Spain, put another impressive notch in his movie belt to follow up “Patton” and “Planet of the Apes.”
