I haven't heard from country singer Randy Travis in a while. What has he been doing?
—Lois N., North Carolina
Travis' first live project, Randy Travis Live: It Was Just a Matter of Time, was released Aug. 28 on DVD, videocassette, and compact disc. Fans of the Marshville, N.C., native can look forward to a new album, a mix of classics from his film and television projects and new songs, in early 2002 on his new label, Relentless/Nashville. In addition, he can be seen alongside Eric Roberts, Ernest Borgnine, and Stella Stevens in the independent theatrical film release The Long Ride Home this fall. Travis also has a full schedule of live performances lined up through early November. The singer moved to Nashville in 1981, married his longtime manager, Lib Hatcher, in 1991, and now juggles music with a flourishing acting career, with guest roles in such television series as Matlock and Touched by an Angel and roles in a number of feature films.
