How can I get in touch with Ricky Schroder?
—Barbara K., Oklahoma
Born in Staten Island, N.Y., Rick Schroder moved with his family to Los Angeles in 1985 when the 15-year-old actor was in the midst of his TV series, Silver Spoons. Unlike other child actors who seemed to have difficulty adjusting to adulthood, Schroder has worked steadily and maintained success and happiness for two decades. "There was always a job for me when I needed one, so there seemed to be a role to help me transition to the next stage of my career," says Schroder, 35. "I love what I do, so I've always been very focused in achieving what I've wanted." He also cites the fact that he met his wife, Andrea, when he was 20 and became a father at 22. "That also makes you grow up and behave properly," says Schroder, who lives in California's San Fernando Valley with his wife and four children. Known for his role on NYPD Blue, he now can be seen on the show Strong Medicine. He wrote, directed and acted in the recent DVD-released Black Cloud and directed the award-winning country music video, Whiskey Lullaby. You can write to Rick Schroder c/o Hofflund/Polone, 9465 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 820, Beverly Hills, CA 90212.
