Does Ricky Van Shelton have anything coming out soon?
—Betty W., Texas

After 16 albums on other labels, country favorite Ricky Van Shelton is hard at work on his first album (as yet unnamed) for his own new and unnamed record label. It will be released sometime later this year. The Danville, Va., native moved to Nashville, Tenn., in 1984 to see if he could turn his passion for singing and country music into a career. By 1988, Shelton was pulling down key music industry honors, among them the Horizon Award from the Country Music Association and the Top New Male Vocalist award from the Academy of Country Music. He and wife Bettye now live in the log cabin they built outside of Nashville, where they raise a small herd of beefalo cattle on their 150-acre farm. When he's not on the road, Shelton's hobbies include flying his airplane, gardening, and working on his classic cars. The versatile performer also has written and published a series of children's books called Tales From a Duck Named Quacker.
