I think I once read that Rob Reiner of All in the Family is a producer and director. Is this true?
—Colleen L., Kansas

Is it ever. Reiner was best known as Mike or "Meathead" from the series All in the Family when he directed This Is Spinal Tap in 1984. With his third film, Stand by Me, based on a Stephen King story, he established himself as a serious director. Over the years, he's produced and directed such hit films as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and A Few Good Men. The 55-year-old New York native still acts occasionally, appearing recently in Edtv and The Muse. Reiner, son of comic actor, writer, and director Carl Reiner, made his first movie appearance in his father's 1967 film Enter Laughing. He won two Emmys for his work on All in the Family. Reiner also co-founded Castle Rock Entertainment, a production company.
