The four-time Grammy winner, 75, who was born in Black Mountain, N.C., and grew up in Arlington, Va., continues to perform. She plans to release Let It Be Roberta, a collection of Beatles' hits, this month. A schoolteacher at age 20 before she became a singing superstar, Flack says she "used Beatles' songs to get the attention of the kids in the classroom."
