Sara Evans Reaches a Real Fine Place
"This new album is so country," multi-platinum country star Sara Evans says about her fifth album, Real Fine Place. "But that's the way I grew up singing, so I was just going into this new album thinking, ‘You know, I want to do more of that.'" Having sold more than 4 million albums, country radio's most-played female artist of 2004 continues to set high goals for herself. "You're always trying to exceed what you did before," says the 34-year-old mother of three who admits to listening to new material while she's cooking supper in her New Franklin, Mo., home. Evans co-wrote six tracks on the new disc and made it a family affair with vocal contributions from her mother, father and sister, and production assistance from her brother. The current single, A Real Fine Place To Start, has proven to be just that as a recent No. 1 hit. A fine place, indeed, for a woman included on People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful" list this year.
