How did singer Seal get the scars on his face?
Floann Hamilton, DeKalb, Ill.

Seal's scars are a result of discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), a chronic skin condition he contracted more than two decades ago—not, as more colorful rumors suggest, from a horrifying car accident or exotic tribal rituals. "That's just the nature of the media and people's imaginations," says the London-born "Kiss From a Rose" singer, 47.¬† Seal's DLE has been in remission for years.
