Is Gabriel Macht from “Suits” related to Stephen Macht?

Stephen Macht, 70, and Gabriel Macht, 40, are father and son. Gabriel is one of four children, but the only one who followed his father into the acting profession. His brother Jesse is a musician, who appeared on “The Next Great American Band,” but the remaining two siblings–brother and sister–are not performers.
It most likely won’t happen this season, but Gabriel, who plays successful attorney Harvey Specter on the hit USA Network series, says, “We’re hoping to find something for [my dad] on the show.” Gabriel, who has appeared in the motion pictures “The Spirit,” “Love and Other Drugs,” “The Recruit” and “Bad Company,” says he is finding the switch to series television “challenging.”
“Every week a little bit more information comes out about your back story, who you are, how he lives his life, what has happened in his life to make him who he is and how he navigates through it in the present, and I really enjoy that experience.”
He says it also helps to be working with long-time, close friend Sarah Rafferty, who plays his assistant Donna. “Sarah and I go back almost 20 years,” he says. “Our daughters are best friends. We’ve been to each other’s weddings. We constantly say to each other, ‘Don’t make me laugh, don’t make me laugh, stop, stop.’ So half of the time that you’re watching us act, all we’re trying to do is not laugh, or smile, or make each other giggle.”
