The Ten Commandments
DVD $14.99 / Blu-ray $24.99

Director Cecil B. DeMille’s 1956 epic gets a full restoration and re-mastering to celebrate its 55th birthday. You know the story: Nile River basket boy (Charlton Heston’s Moses) grows up to square off against chrome-domed pharaoh (Yul Brynner), tote down a couple of game-changing stone tablets from Mt. Sinai, part the Red Sea and lead an oppressed nation into the promised land. Brimming with a double armful of bonus features—and even more on Blu-ray—this re-release is timed to coincide with Easter and Passover, which is when network television at one time made it an annual Sunday night event. But the epic sweep and scope of its pageantry and spectacle truly make it now a cinematic masterpiece for all seasons.
