The Good, The Bad & The God-Awful
By Kurt Loder
Softcover, 560 pages ($21)

Loder, a former MTV newsman and Rolling Stone editor, assembles more than 200 of his sharpest, smartest and most entertaining movie reviews for this collection spotlighting—as the title suggests—a spectrum of subjective delights. Of course, it's interesting to know which films he thinks are worth seeing. But it's even more fun to read his deliciously dissecting digs at the ones he advises avoiding at all costs.
