Q: I read that Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete will not be coming back for season two of The Talk. Why? They were my favorites!

—Nancy Hatzenbeller, Aberdeen, S.D.

No official reason has been given by the producers of The Talk as to why they replaced Remini, 41, and Peete, 47, with Aisha Tyler, 41, and Sheryl Underwood, 48. But, as is often the case when a TV show makes a switcheroo, it was probably a move to try to boost ratings.

"Usually when you get fired, your boss brings you in, sits you down and tells you why they can't keep you," says Peete. "They say 'We have to downsize' or 'You're not doing this' or 'You're not doing that.' I was never given that opportunity."

But Peete, who can now be seen in a recurring role in the CBS series Mike & Molly—on the same network that airs The Talk—also points out that she and Remini were replaced by two women who are not mothers. "The two ladies they brought on are fantastic and great TV personalities, but they're not moms. So, I guess they abandoned the whole mom brand, which was [the] initial concept," she says.
