That’s the 1937 box-office hit “Topper,” starring Cary Grant and Constance Bennett, which launched Grant into a series of screwball comedies. The film spawned two sequels, neither with Grant, and a 1953-1955 TV series starring Robert Sterling and Anne Jeffreys.
