I enjoy the truTV Network's Lizard Lick Towing, Operation Repo and South Beach Tow. My son says they are fake. Am I watching true TV or fake TV?

TruTV responds to your query saying that these shows “feature real people and are based on real situations. Due to production needs, some scenes are re-enacted.” For example, Ron and Amy Shirley, who operate Lizard Lick Towing & Recovery near Wendell, N.C., have been repossessing vehicles and machinery since they opened their business with one truck in 1998. Today, they have a staff of 15 and a fleet of 20 vehicles, so what you see on TV is how they have been making their living for 14 years.
