I saw the last episode of Ugly Betty and want to know why the show ended.

Like a lot of television shows, the Emmy-winning ABC-TV series fell victim to declining viewership as the “new” wore off its shine. Fewer people watching means fewer advertisers paying for the exposure, and the network pulled the plug after four seasons. While fans mourn the show’s demise, they can rejoice that the series did launch into stardom actress America Ferrera, who appeared in all 85 episodes as the “ugly duckling” title character.
