Out of the epic devastation to the seven towns comprising the Mount Snow valley, Readsboro, Whitingham, Halifax, Jacksonville, Wilmington, Dover, and Wardsboro, a new seasonal event is gaining momentum. To show and let the world know we are still here and “The Lights Are On in the Mount Snow Valley,” business, residences, schools, municipal buildings, and trees along more than 35 miles of roads will be brightly lit with holiday lights beginning December 9th. Light displays and decorations are being created by local children and adults alike.
The first weekend (Dec 9th -12th) will include many scheduled celebratory events, dinners, and various local discounts. The lights will continue to shine brightly until Jan 1, 2012 when we can say good riddance to 2011. One event will be luminaries placed around Snow Lake.
