Gino Vannelli, 61, whose hits include “I Just Wanna Stop” and “Living Inside Myself,” lives with his wife, Patricia, near the Columbia River in the mountains of Oregon. The native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, continues to tour and says his career highlights include playing with symphonies across the world and performing for Pope John Paul II. “In 2008, I put together a [new] band,” he says. “People liked the new arrangements to a lot of the old songs they had heard for years. So we recorded an album called “The Best and Beyond.” He’s currently polishing off a new recording project that he describes as “jazzy blues.”
