I would like to know what Bruce Dern is doing. I liked him in movies even though he usually played the bad guy.

Bruce Dern, 77, won the best actor award at the Cannes Film Festival in May for his performance in “Nebraska,” in which he plays a retired Montana mechanic, a character he describes as “a guy who sees it like he sees it, and nothing is going to change him or how he lives.” The Kenilworth, Illinois, native co-stars in Hallmark Movie Channel’s “Pete’s Christmas” throughout December and will appear in the 2014 crime thriller “Cut Bank.” With more than 80 movies to his credit, Dern gave strong performances in “The Great Gatsby,” “Family Plot,” “Coming Home” and “That Championship Season,” and he played the villain who shot John Wayne’s character in the back in “The Cowboys.”
