There are several references to Ernest Hemingway in the film “The Words.” What’s the connection?
—Rana Aarons, Tulsa, Okla.

Hemingway lore includes a story about the legendary writer’s first wife, Hadley, who was traveling to meet him in Spain. He asked her to bring along a few of his stories. Instead, she brought all his writings—along with the carbon copies—in a briefcase, which was stolen on the train, never to be found. Writer/directors Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal were inspired by the idea of the lost stories and from it crafted the premise for the movie “The Words,” starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana, which arrives on DVD Dec. 18.
