In May, Bacharach, 85, who was born in Kansas City, Mo., and grew up in New York City, released his autobiography, “Anyone Who Had a Heart: My Life and Music.” Married four times, he toured in the late 1950s as musical arranger and conductor for actress and singer Marlene Dietrich.
