Keys, 31, began studying piano when she was 7 and stuck with it at the encouragement of her single mom. Her skill earned the New York-born singer/songwriter/producer entrance into the Professional Performance Arts School in Manhattan. She’s married to record producer Swizz Beatz, and they have a 2-year-old son.
