Roy Clark, 80, who was born in Meherrin, Virginia, won two national banjo championships and a world banjo/guitar flat-pick championship by the age of 15. The Grammy winner performs about 110 concerts a year. As for the success of TV’s “Hee Haw,” which he co-hosted for its entire run from 1969 to 1992, he says, “We were just being silly and having fun.” He and his wife of 56 years, Barbara, have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, since 1974.
