What can you tell me about one of my favorite TV stars, Barbara Eden?
—Steven Corker, Tennessee Colony, Texas
Born Barbara Jean Morehead in Tucson, Ariz., Eden, 78, grew up in San Francisco and was a beauty queen before moving to Hollywood in the 1950s to begin a career in movies and television. Best known as the wish granter with the bare midriff in the 1965-1970 sitcom I Dream of Jeannie, she also appeared in about 20 movies, starring in “Flaming Star” and “The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao,” and the TV movie “Harper Valley PTA.” Eden continues to act on stage and to make public appearances. She released her memoir,” Jeannie Out of the Bottle,” in 2011.
