The city of Mountain View (pop. 74,066) has two pieces of the Iron Curtain tucked away in a parking area. The two 4-foot-wide and 8-foot-tall concrete slabs were rescued when the Berlin Wall was toppled in 1989 and now reside in the parking lot of the Bayside Business Plaza. The slabs bear graffiti sprayed on them in Germany, including the inscription “Wir Lieben Dich,” which translates to “We love you.”
