—Melinda McCoy, San Diego, Calif.

Gray, 44, who was born Natalie McIntyre in Canton, Ohio, released 'Covered,' an album of songs originally recorded by other artists, in March. The CD includes her version of Eurythmics’ “Here Comes The Rain Again” and other tunes from Colbie Callait, Metallica, Sublime and Radiohead. “I wanted to do them completely different than the originals,” says Gray, who won a Grammy Award in 2001 for her single “I Try.” The singer took a few years off to raise her three children, all now teenagers.
