Who starred in the TV Western “Sugarfoot”?
—Ed Flinn, Ravenswood, W.Va.
That would be Will Hutchins, 83, who starred in the 1957-1961 series as Tom Brewster, a frontier lawyer who drank sarsaparilla and preferred his wit and a lariat over a six-gun to settle disputes. Also starring in the 1960s sitcoms “Hey,” “Landlord” and “Blondie,” Hutchins worked with Elvis Presley in “Spinout” and “Clambake” and co-starred in the films “Merrill’s Marauders,” “The Shooting” and “Roar.” The Los Angeles, Calif., native reflects regularly about his career in a pun-filled column for “Western Clippings,” a homegrown fanzine for Western aficionados.
